We have many scenic trail rides for beginners as
well as advanced riders. Lessons are also
available for first timers and always welcome.
A favorite ride is a 1 or 2 hour ride to see Native
American rock art in both pictograph and
petroglyph techniques. Then we ride up the road
(moderate uphill climb) to a perfect spot where your
photos are taken with the beautiful Mahogany
Buttes in the background. Be sure to bring a
camera! We'll then make a nice loop back to the
ranch with plenty to see along the way. Our nimble
horses navigate the mountainous terrain with ease.
We do have areas of ground that are somewhat flat
for those who prefer to take it slow. Each ride is
carefully individualized to each person's ability and
matched with a like horse. Safety is utmost
important and we recommend you wear riding
helmets if you own one. Especially children!

Since the Mahogany Butte Ranch is a working cattle, sheep and horse ranch, you can ride with us in the capacity
you desire as long as you have the qualifications, along with the timing of ranch work schedules, weather and any
unforeseen events that my inhibit the work environment. Our guest rides operate under the name, "Blazing
Saddles, LLC" managed by Janna Hampton. We do want to make clear, that this is not a 'guest' ranch. It is our
home and way of life. Our work comes first and scheduling your ride, be it a scenic trail ride or a cattle drive, will be
secondary. We do enjoy sharing or fantastic scenery, horses and lifestyle and want guests to know that we will
explore all possibilities and carry through to ensure you have a quality experience.

with 1 night stay, which may be
